What this age calculator does
Enter your date of birth and the calculator works out how old you are today, down to the exact day. It also converts that age into total months, weeks, days and hours, and tells you how many days are left until your next birthday. You can set the second date to any day in the past or future to find how old you were, or will be, on that date.
Where people use it
- Job, visa and scholarship forms that ask for age as on a cut-off date
- School and college admissions with a minimum or maximum age rule
- Insurance, pension and retirement paperwork
- Working out a child's age in months for growth charts
How the months are counted
Months have different lengths, so the calculator borrows days from the previous calendar month instead of assuming every month is 30 days. Leap years are handled automatically, which is why the day count here can differ by one from calculators that use a fixed 365-day year.
Frequently asked questions
How is exact age calculated?
Full years are counted first, then the leftover months, then the leftover days. Days are borrowed from the length of the actual previous calendar month, so the result matches how age is recorded on official forms.
Can I find my age on a future date?
Yes. Set the second field to any future date and the tool shows the age you will be on that day, which is useful for eligibility cut-off dates.
Is my date of birth stored anywhere?
No. The calculation runs inside your browser and nothing is uploaded or saved.
